Rural property market ''is strong''

The property market in rural areas of the UK is continuing to doing well, it has been claimed.

With the attraction of either a first or second home in a beautiful area of the UK attracting many people to the countryside, a spokesperson for chartered surveyors John Clegg & Co said that the rural property market had yet to cool off.

"There is no slow down. The market is buoyant. There is a shortage of stock and supply and there are plenty of purchases, so the market is quite strong.

"Land is a very safe investment. They are not making any more of it and people like to have something that is tangible, something they can enjoy."

These assertions appear to support findings from estate agency chain Savills, which showed earlier this year that prime country property prices are at a four-year high.

While the firm acknowledged growth was lower than that in central London, it said it expected the market to continue to grow.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18299571-ADNFCR
