South of France ''lures young buyers''

Young people are increasingly looking to purchase homes in the south of France as transport links between the region and the UK improve, according to property experts.
Ben Sanders, a spokesperson for home specialist French-property.com, said that the attraction of a Gallic lifestyle is proving irresistible for some buyers who may have not traditionally bought there.
"Traditionally it has been people of retirement age or approaching retirement age but we''ve definitely seen a trend of much younger people in their 30s and 40s looking for a holiday home over there."
"People are very much drawn to the culture in France, rather than in Spain where people are just drawn to the sunshine. There''s plenty to see and do, lots of history and lots of wine," he said.
Mr Sanders added that the number of regional airports and a new rail link made travelling time-effective.
According to figures from offshore banking guide Shelter Offshore, eight per cent of Brits live abroad, with many taking advantage of affordable property prices and the relatively low cost of living in France.
