An estate agent has claimed that the Warwick property market is resilient to concerns over the future of the sector.
Heenay Joshi, the director of Halifax Estate Agents in Warwick, Leamington and Kenilworth, said that the area, which is famous for its medieval castle, is strong enough to shake off the impact of problems caused by the recent credit crunch.
"There is a lot of speculation about the housing market at the moment but it doesn''t really affect places like Warwick so much because people always want to move there. The type of buyer is more affluent."
Although the most common types of property in Warwick are semi-detached and terraced houses, Mr Joshi said that it has a broad a appeal to a range of buyers.
"You''re in a nice town but youve got some really good amenities in terms of night-life and family areas, and good schools It attracts all different kinds of buyers."
"It''s a safe bet for first-time buyers because property prices are not likely to fluctuate as much as in some cities. Warwick is always going to appeal more to a family market as the schools are very good there," he added.
