Buyers are likely to continue to be attracted to the lifestyle offered to those who buy properties in Spain, it has been suggested.

The country has been a traditional favourite among Brits looking to retire to the sunshine and according to spokeswoman for investment firm Property Frontiers, the trend is set to continue into 2008, despite recent turmoil on world financial markets.

"Those looking to buy purely for lifestyle will almost certainly still look to Spain. It is a beautiful country with a beautiful culture and beautiful people."

She highlighted the "wonderful beaches, 320 days of sunshine a year, delicious food and wine, a laid back lifestyle, stunning mountain ranges and spectacular cities" as among the chief attractions Spain offers buyers.

However, she said that those looking at their overseas property as purely an investment should "look to less established markets to maximise their returns on capital invested".

Last month, advice website Spanishpropertyinsight.com pointed out buying in Spain is relatively simple for Brits, explaining that the country offers all the services they need to both make a purchase and live in the country.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18388573-ADNFCR
