Exeter''s Cardens Residential Sales and Lettings is set to have a fresh start in the New Year after rebranding itself and transferring its staff to one office, it has been reported.

Now known as Cardens Residential, the firm has consolidated its operations into its Longbrook Street office, with its New North Road branch closing down.

Jon Carden, the owner of the agency, told the Exeter Express & Echo: "We''ve had good feedback from our customers. It''s a better location from the point of view of foot traffic."

"Longbrook Street is the new estate agent''s row of Exeter," he said.

With 14,000 students attending the University of Exeter, the town has a large number of young people looking for accommodation.

Accordingly, Cardens Residential has spun off its student property division into a new sister company called Students@Cardens.

The wider market is also thriving, with figures from the Halifax revealing that the average price of a home in the town has risen by 11 per cent in the last year, from £196,837 in 2006 to £218,569 this year.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18395676-ADNFCR
