Croatia ''has a long-term market''

Properties in Croatia offer those looking to snap up an overseas property a long-term investment opportunity, it has been suggested.

Paul Keppler, managing director of advice website Croatiansun.com said that building regulations in the country were introduced to help protect the market from an oversupply of homes that other areas in the Mediterranean, such as Spain, have seen.

"There is definitely protection for the investor from that boom and bust cycle. What we see here is a stable and steady growth market, which is protected in the right way.

"That''s what is attracting so many investors here. It''s a long-term market rather than a short-term one," he explained.

Mr Keppler added that the country is also attracting more tourists, with the town of Dubrovnik seeing visitor numbers grow 40 per cent year-on-year.

"Which means if it''s increasing in vocational tourism then that has a natural follow-on into residential tourism and into the property market," he commented.

The country boasts an array of attractions, including six Unesco World Heritage sights, which could provide a boost to buy-to-let investors looking to capitalise on the tourist boom.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18405065-ADNFCR
