Overseas homes ''still lure Brits''

Brits are still keen on purchasing homes abroad despite recent economic turbulence, according to analysts.
Vanessa Bird, of financial services company Baydonhill, said that while some people have been rattled by factors such as the credit crunch in recent months, there is still confidence in established overseas property markets.
"The key is the diverse selection of buyers who look to purchase in these destinations, from second home owners to those relocating for retirement."
"The huge variety present here in terms of age, financial circumstances and motivation for buying is the driver behind the constant supply of purchasers," she added.
Robin Haynes of Foreign Currency Direct highlighted Florida as a popular destination, explaining that property prices in the US have fallen at the same time as the pound has performed strongly against the dollar, making it much easier for bargain hunting British buyers to snap up a home for less.
The high number of homes being put up for auction after US homeowners default on their mortgage is also helping keep prices low.
