Agent urges sellers to make good use of parking

Sellers have been urged to make sure they show off the parking facilities their property offers when potential buyers come for viewings.

Many homeowners are tempted to use their garage for storage purposes but according to one estate agent based in the north-east of England, it is important that people looking around a property get to see exactly what they will be getting for their money.

Mike Ball, managing partner of Halifax Estate Agents in Yarm, told the Evening Gazette that "private parking facilities are really desirable when searching for property".

"When selling your home, it is preferable to have parking facilities presented to reflect their intended use as much as possible."

"Clear out garages to show the space off to full advantage and demonstrate that a car can go in," he suggested, also recommending that sellers ensure there are no weeds growing on the driveway and check that no litter has been blown onto it.

Research released by the Halifax last year revealed that off-street parking and a garage are two features many buyers look for when trying to find their dream property.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18421843-ADNFCR
