East London ''set to benefit from Olympics''

The 2012 Olympics Games will have a positive impact on east London, a property expert has argued.

Millions of pounds are being spent on improving facilities and transport links ahead of the Games, which organisers hope will help improve the standard of living in the area as well as boost the local economy.

Paul Collins, a spokesperson for advice website Buy Association, explained that this is exactly what has happened in other nations that have hosted the event, commenting: "For the vast majority it''s been a positive thing.

"These places have been regenerated and used as residential areas."

One of the principle benefits of the Games will be the expansion of the East London Line, which will connect Hackney to the Tube system for the first time and make it easier for residents to commute to other areas of the capital.

Mr Perry said the infrastructure improvements will also bring in businesses, concluding: "It''s high time this part of London was given some attention and I think it will be a really good thing for it."ADNFCR-1143-ID-18429958-ADNFCR
