Nicolas Cage has been spotted viewing a six-bedroom Victorian farmhouse in Somerset, it has been reported.

According to the Sunday Times, the actor got an up close look at Worminster Farm, near Wells, which is being sold along with 300 acres of land and outbuildings.

It is being marketed by estate agency Savills for £4 million.

A source told the newspaper that the actor is very interested in Somerset and likes to take a hands-on approach to negotiating property deals.

Mr Cage, who has starred in hit movies such as Leaving Las Vegas and Captain Correlli''s Mandolin, told the Daily Mail earlier this month that he is keen to move to Britain "because the British teaching system is second to none".

"I''m moving to Britain because it has the best education system in the world - who knows? My son may end up at Eton."

Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported that Mr Cage had sold his house in Newport Beach in California for $35 million (£17.7 million), after purchasing it for $25 million (£12.6 million) in 2005.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18452653-ADNFCR
