The frontman of The Zutons, Dave McCabe, has reportedly put down a deposit on a new house.
According to the Daily Star, the 27-year-old lead singer earned the money for the property as a result of Amy Winehouse covering one of the band''s songs.
Valerie was originally released on The Zutons'' album Tired of Hanging Around in 2006, with the single making it to number nine in the charts.
However, music producer Mark Ronson got his hands on the track and invited Winehouse to provide the vocals.
The single has since reached number two in the UK charts and is set to be released in the US, with members of The Zutons reaping the financial rewards.
The Daily Star has quoted a source as saying that McCabe can now finally afford to buy his own house.
"Dave put a deposit down on a lovely big house in Liverpool with the royalties from the track," revealed the source.
"He''s really chuffed and has been telling all his mates about the property."
The Liverpool housing market is expected to perform particularly well this year as it gains global attention as the European Capital of Culture.
