Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are said to be living in temporary accommodation while their home is renovated.

The stars and daughter Suri, as well as Cruise''s adopted children Connor and Isabella from his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman, are said to be staying in Los Angeles.

They are currently housed in an apartment at the Scientology Celebrity Centre, while work is carried out on their £20 million home.

Once the renovation work is complete, it is thought that the property will boast a dining room that can seat up to 20 people.

In addition, it will have a home theatre for up to 50 people so friends and family can enjoy the latest blockbuster offerings from Cruise and Holmes.

Cruise has been making the headlines for his bizarre behaviour for some time now and one report suggests that this is set to continue.

The New York Post reported that he was spotted visiting the bathroom in an LA restaurant with his minder following him.

The minder remained close by throughout and a witness claimed that Cruise then spent a full five minutes washing his hands "as fastidiously and thoroughly as a surgeon preparing for surgery".
