Footballer Phil Neville is still trying to sell his mansion situated on a prime piece of Lancashire moorland, it has emerged.

Neville, who now lives in Manchester''s iconic Beetham Tower, bought the property nine years ago for £600,000 when it was a conference centre and has since converted it.

Named Sunnyside House, it is on sale for £4 million but has so far remained on the market for three months.

Lindsey Thomas, of Knight Frank, told the Daily Mail: "It has been on the market a little longer than usual but this is a very specific character property."

The mansion, which contains a fitness room, a cinema room and a four-bedroom staff house situated in the nine-acre grounds, was refitted by the footballer and his wife to suit their tastes, which is apparently Versace-inspired.

According to photographs, the dining room ceiling gleams with gold paint, carpets are emblazoned with the Everton player''s and his wife''s initial, as is the wrought-iron gate at the front of the grounds.

Neville bought the mansion when was playing for Manchester United FC. He currently appears for Everton and England.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18536287-ADNFCR
