Brits dream of life in the country
Tue 6th May, 18:12:09 BST
Thousands of UK homeowners are considering upping sticks and moving to a life in the country, according to a recent survey.
Yorkshire Bank has recently published its quarterly Housebuyers Survey and its findings could be surprising.
According to the survey, 59 per cent of respondents felt that being away from the noise and pollution of the city could improve their health and wellbeing.
It also found that education was a major factor when deciding where to live with 32 per cent of respondents saying they would move to a more rural area if it had a better standard of education for their children.
Gary Lumby, Yorkshire Bank''s head of retail, said: "While the idea of a slower pace of life may not fit with the image of the today''s typical young professional, it seems that even young go-getters can see the benefits of country living."
Yorkshire Bank currently offers a number of services including advice on personal finance and mortgages.
