Frankie Howerd house up for sale

Mon 12th May, 17:35:02 BST

The former home of comedian Frankie Howerd has been put up for sale, along with thousands of items of memorabilia.

The late comic legend''s four-bedroom, pink property in Cross, near Axbridge, in Somerset is going for around £800,000.

However, buyers can also get their hands on more than 4,000 items from Howerd''s career, including false teeth, his toupee and many photographs.

For the additional items, the buyer will need to fork out a further £600,000.

Chris Byrne, a councillor who runs Howerd''s estate, said that both the house and the memorabilia are very special.

"It''s a one-off house, with the setting and the grounds," he told the Daily Mail.

"But the archives will boggle people''s minds. We''ve got paintings, Frank''s X-rays, his school reports and his war papers.

"We''ve even got a hernia belt and the couch where he died," added Mr Byrne.

The house comes with two bathrooms, large grounds and a war bunker.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18589836-ADNFCR
