British singing sensation Leona Lewis has been forced to pull out of buying a house in Hackney because she cannot afford it.
The Sun reports that the winner of X Factor was all set to buy a house with her long-term boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa.
The couple were preparing to pay £500,000 for the property in London but when the seller found out who was buying the house they increased the asking price by £100,000.
"It was quite upsetting," a friend of Leona''s told the newspaper.
"They had their heart set on a property and offered the asking price. But the seller thought she was a pop star and could afford more, so he upped the price. It''s cruel."
It was recently revealed that Leona was struggling to make it onto the property ladder in London but has since enjoyed success in the US and continues to do well in the UK.
