Mary J Blige has splashed out on a £6 million house in New Jersey.

The New York Daily News has reported that the singer bought the eight-bedroom house in Saddle River and she should have no problem getting on with her neighbours.

The likes of Wyclef Jean, Ja Rule and Run Dmc''s Joseph ''Reverend Run'' Simmons all live in the area.

Mary''s new home comes complete with eight bedrooms, a 14-seat movie theatre, a gym and a room designated solely to wine tasting.

It appears that the star is set to receive a warm welcome from neighbours too, as local resident Sandy Miller made clear.

"It''s nice to know Mary J Blige is moving to the area. Everyone here is private, secluded and respects each other''s space," she said.

Another resident told the New York Daily News that Mary''s move did not remain secret for long.

"Everybody knows Mary J Blige bought the house. He (the real estate broker) may have signed a confidentiality agreement, but the buzz was out the minute she and her husband saw the house."
