Property buyers looking at a new showhome in Norwich will be able to see a realistic impression of what the house would look like with a teenage resident.
Rather than pristine furnishings, Abel Homes'' The Dairy development in Old Catton features a replica of a teenage boy''s bedroom, complete with smelly trainers, leftover food and an unmade bed.
"I''ve always found showhomes are a bit bland and unreal, so I thought if we were doing a teenage boy''s room we shouldn''t have it too pristine," comments the company''s director Maggie Abel, adding that she wanted to help people visualise the house as a home.
The property has now been sold to a couple and their five-year-old daughter who plan to move in to the four-bedroom property this week.
Last week, house builder Persimmon Properties stated that it is positive for 2009, noting that it experienced an increase in sales for the final two months of 2008 compared to the previous year.
