Brighton offers buyers the chance to live in an area which has its own distinct identity but is still within each reach of London, an estate agent has said.
The coastal town has been a popular destination for people keen to spend some time by the sea for many years and according to Charlie Snell, the director of Brighton and Hove Family Homes, it is also a great place to live.
"You don''t feel like you are in a provincial town. It has an identity and a feel all of its own.
He highlighted the "extremely good transport links to London", including a regular train service, and the sea as two of the main draws for buyers.
Mr Snell also explained that Brighton is a good place for families, suggesting that areas such as Fiveways are "particularly popular" as they offer good schools and nice properties.
"Kemp Town is popular, particularly with families because it has two extremely good primary schools there and is close to the sea and the architecture is lovely," he added.
