UK homeowners have been reassured that the government will ensure stability remains in the economy.

With the global credit crunch causing concern for some homeowners, the prime minister has pledged to keep things stable.

In an article written for the Sun newspaper, Gordon Brown said that he guaranteed Labour would guide Britain safely through the uncertain times.

"My guarantee to the British people is that we will hold on to stability in these tough times," he wrote.

"We enter this latest period of uncertainty more stable and more resilient than at any other time in our history.

"They [the British public] know the Labour government has got the economy through tough times in the past," continued Mr Brown.

Assetz chief executive Stewart Law recently suggested that we may have seen the end of declining annual house price inflation.

The latest figures from the firm revealed that annual inflation stabilised at 5.4 per cent between January and February.ADNFCR-1143-ID-18518090-ADNFCR
